Welcome to Capitol Care Center Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care! Having a family member who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or Dementia is difficult for the entire family. At Capitol Care Center, we are proud to offer a diversely skilled nursing staff to care for each of our guests. Our goal is to prolong the deteriorating effects of Alzheimer’s and Dementia from setting in.
Often referred to as “The Long Goodbye,” Alzheimer’s is a progressive and fatal brain disease currently affecting over 5 million Americans and is the most common form of Dementia. Because Alzheimer’s gradually attacks and destroys brain cells, an individual will experience a slow progression of memory loss that can effect work, social skills, and basic mobility. While there are many different types of dementia, according to the Alzheimer’s Association of America, Alzheimer’s comprises between 50 and 80 percent of all dementia cases.
While there is currently no known cure for this fatal disease, Capitol Care Center is dedicated to fighting this disease every day until a cure is found.
