Welcome to the Capitol Care Center Activities Department! Here you’ll be able to find information about the daily activities that we have planned for our guests. The activities department is constantly on the move! Each day, there are several activities planned for our residents to participate in at their leisure. You can download a calendar of monthly events HERE to find out what we’re up to this month. Not only does the activities department coordinate and run our daily activities within the building, but they are responsible for organizing outings to various locations around town and sometimes out of town. Plus, they plan for our major parties throughout the year that mark major holidays and special events. Interested in how you can get involved? What Do You Want To Do Today?

Nobody wants to wait around for therapy all day or be stuck in bed watching TV. That’s why Capitol Care Center has a dedicated activities coordination department. Every day is filled with a variety of different activities for all residents to take part in, and residents always have an up-to-date calendar for the month’s activities posted in their rooms. Activities such as bingo, ice cream socials, beer and pizza night, and field trips keep our residents busy throughout each day along with many other daily activities throughout the month. Often times, our activities department will book local entertainment to visit the facility to keep the social calendar filled with variety and fun.

Caring for the soul is just as important as caring for the mind and body. Capitol Care Center respects all faiths and offers a variety of services to more denominations than any other facility in the area. Church services for different denominations are held on different days of the week and the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Sacrament of the Eucharist are offered weekly. If you have a specific pastor or lay leader that you prefer from your parish, we will arrange for you to meet with them if they make that option available to members of their congregation.

In some cases, residents are more comfortable attending the services in their own congregation. For those medically able to travel, we encourage family members to continue escorting residents to partake in worship services at the church, temple, or synagogue of your choice.

We understand that some people enjoy a little peace and quiet. That’s why we have many more options available to keep you occupied during your stay with us. Below are just some of the options you might want to consider:
